Special Meeting

There will be a general membership meeting and election for president, Saturday, 16 August 2003, 9am, ASC clubhouse at Moriarty.  The main agenda items are election of a president (25% quorum required, so Please BE THERE! ) and selecting a memorial committee for Paul Chase. Brian Resor will be presiding and agenda items should be directed to him (resor@netzero.com).

XC Clinic

Following the general membership meeting (see above) Bill Hill will lead another one of his popular cross country clinics and follow-the-leader fly abouts. There will be an end-of-day picnic with refreshments (beer and soft drinks) and hamburgers provided.

For those members who are not in the "top gun" cross-country category, we may also provide a time declaration contest if there is sufficient interest.  For this contest, a pilot declares to the second the time he expects his/her flight to last from wheel off pavement to wheel on pavement upon landing.  (There may be a time penalty added for declarations less than 30 minutes.) The pilot with actual time closest to the declared time wins.  All categories of ships, pilots, and flights eligible!

 Looking For Larry?

Larry Richardson is retiring from PNM and, as a result, his cell and office numbers are "gone" effective immediately.  Larry is NOT retiring from his other line of work. If you need your parachutes repacked, you can contact Larry via his home telephone: (505) 281-1413.

That’s All Folks!

In order to get word out about the special election meeting, “Towlines” went to press early this month, catching some of our regular authors off guard.

Maybe the delayed monsoon may have caused some of the regular writers to spend time flying  instead of writing, and, hey, nothing wrong with that!

I haven’t had to plead for material for a while.  If you’ve ever thought: “Somebody” should write an article about “X”, maybe that “somebody” is you?

Hopefully we’ll have material to return Towlines to it’s usual glory next month. –Kevin
