There may even be a chance that 62Y will be back in the air by the 18th too. |

Any chance we could think about doing the weekend of Sept 18? This week I found out that I have a commitment Friday night that interferes with the Sept 12 weekend. |

Terry and I visited Pagosa Springs today. What a great town! I stopped-in at the airport and spoke with the FBO manager, Bob Goubitz regarding a soaring safari to their airport. He was very supportive of hosting gliders, and even hinted that they would be happy to see as many as possible. The airport manager is interested in increasing activity. There was a new ramp available for trailer tie-down and assembly, and a taxiway that could be made available for our exclusive use. They even have water available adjacent to the FBO but it would be somewhat like filling up at the club hangar and hauling the glider from there. Bob also said the tie down fee for the towplane would be $7.00 per night and the gliders would be free. The pilot's lounge was very nice too. I'll defer to those more familiar with the area to comment on off-field landing sites, but it appeared that you either land back at the airport, or in the trees. Less than 5 minutes from the FBO just off the end of the runway is a nice little hotel that would be very convenient for visiting pilots. It is called the "Mountain Landing Guest Quarters" and even has runway markings painted on their driveway. Guest quarters consist of one and two bedroom suites with full kitchens. I believe there are only 13 rooms available so it is not a big place. Two rooms are set aside for dog owners, and they have a fenced "kennel area" if you want to keep your dog outside, but fenced in. Rates for pilots are $59+tax for 1 bedroom, and $79+tax for two bedroom suites. A real bargain if you ask me. For non-flyers there are plenty of restaurants, shopping, and at least one golf course. The hot springs are open year-round for swimming. I have contact information for both the FBO and the Guest Quarters if anyone is interested. Terry and I would enjoy visiting again. Clay |

Are the ladies planning on going up? If so, I'll see if Patricia will go with me. Also, I have four fly rods of which I only use one at a time.... |

Definitely count us in on the annual Pagosa Fly-In Safari. I suppose in this case "fly" applies equally to soaring or fishing, which ever is most applicable depending on weather. Bob, what are the chances of having a tow plane available for those dates? Is there anything I can contribute to help move that project along? |

So I leave this weekend for elk camp and will be off the grid until I tag out or burn out...pretty quite out there...Brian, no matter what lets go get some...I know some sweet hike in spots that will satisfy the hike and fishing needs all in one. |

I'm very interested. A weekend of "whatever" especially fishing/hiking is great with me during that timeframe. God knows I need to get some good fishing in this year. |

Guys, What kind of interest is there in a possible non soaring w/e get-together for fly fishing/etc., assuming a lousy soaring w/e. I can attest the 'cabin' Bill speaks of will be some of the nicest diggs a group of ASC rascalions could hope for. The fishing is varied and plentiful and I am sure Bill could guide the less experience. (Bob H. and I could too, but would want to be slaying them (later edit: slaying the fish not the less experienced), And if we could get tow plane support, either from ASC or Nick K. , all the better. There is a bunch to do in Pagosa and you won't find a more gracious host besides Angel in Taos. Being only <3hrs from ABQ there is little to lose and much to gain. |

The big thing would be we need to get the second tow plane up before we can entertain an away event. |
