The reason they have a big gain in July, and particularly August, is the Europe "shuts down" for vacation and they can devote a lot of time to flying. Vacations are over and they are back on their home turf and the fall weather is atrocious for flying gliders. Brian can tell us, but it was (I think) four years ago, we overcame this kind of deficit in the same amount of time. |

And I plan to do my part by ignoring the Air Force as much as possible. |

I agree with Dave- we can probably narrow Amsterdam's lead substantially, and we might be able to pass them. Their season seems to have given out, as very few flights have been scored lately. Our season hasn't given up yet, so all you "retired" guys come on out and fly! You working stiffs need to exercise a few more excuses and join in the weekday efforts! I plan to do my part by ignoring my shop as much as possible. |

Since Bill's posting on 8/19, the deficit has dropped to only 9500 points. In the final 2.5 weeks last year, the club flew 12,750 points. The forecast for the next 10 days (starting Friday) looks fair and dry. It will take a real TEAM EFFORT over the next 3 weekends, but we CAN do it! I will have an extra logger at the airport this weekend for anyone flying club ships. |
